Today, Webinito Team used Oracle 10g as the Database for DSpace v 1.5.2 and successfully installed that in our local environment. It was a big achievement since Webinito had successfully used PostGre SQL Database for DSpace but never Oracle Databases.

Since it was well established that Universities have long had the requirement of using different databases and Oracle was one of them. The time was right for us to start using Oracle DB as the backend for DSpace.

The Digital Library Division of Webinito added another feather in its cap by successfully installing KOHA - an open source Library Automation software at the local computer on Windows OS. 

This installation helps Webinito achieve success in both the stages of Library Services i.e. Library Automation and Library Digitization. Webinito has already been providing services in Dspace customization, installation and training. 

Librarians and Teaching Organizations are all feeling the need for an institutionally based multidisciplinary repository that can help them preserve their Digital Content for the future.

Before choosing an Institutional Repository Software there are certain factors that needs to be considered. Some of these factors are as follows:

a. Metadata Scheme - Should be widely accepted

Today 5th November, 2009 our team at Webinito Networks headed by Hardik Mishra achieved a milestone in DSpace Customization by providing a facility to restructure community in DSpace using UI.
