This weekend, i had to take an unplanned trip to Pune to close a deal with a Digital Animation Institute based out of Bangkok. As i was about to board the bus, days spent while pursuing MBA immediately came flashing back.

We talked about planning, strategy, business plans etc etc etc.. things that really meant everything about managing an enterprise felt rather esoteric today.

A famous quote (Courtesy Google) is apt that says about a journey:

"If all difficulties were known at the outset of a long journey, most of us would never start out at all. - Dan Rather"

Back then, everything felt as if its just a matter of number which when twisted and turned can give you an answer. 9 months down the line, i know how difficult it could be to take an enterprise off the ground and help it grow.

As I reached Pune, my aim was to really close the deal as i knew that the client would simply not know a thing about online branding. To my dismay, Nikhil, the co-founder of the institute knew what he was going for and how to go about it. Very clear in his thought process and knew how online branding works. That actually helped me to put my thoughts and find out his views.

Nikhil was very clear about his goals and what he wanted and that really helped us to pin down the exact requirements of the client and how we go about executing the project.

All in all it was a good trip to take lesson from and had lot of take homes attached to it.
